CFA Volunteers
The Daylesford Fire Brigade is totally crewed by un-paid volunteers, it is responsible for the suppression of bush fires, structural fires and performing rescues in the Daylesford/Hepburn area, plus it provides support when required, both statewide and interstate.
The brigade was formed over 150 years ago and has approximately 55 members with four fire fighting vehicles and one rescue truck. It is managed by a Captain and 5 Lieutenants and falls within CFA district 15. Daylesford Brigade is a member of the Glenlyon Group which consists of 8 brigades in the area who all work together and assist each other in time of need.
All D.F.B. management and firefighters are un-paid volunteers.
Daylesford Fire Brigade is also a community source of information and CFA publications are available on line or from the station. Visits by school groups of all ages are encouraged to learn about fire safety and look around the station and equipment.
